BYD South Asia Regional Meet 2022 Concludes In Nepal On A Positive Note

BYD, one of the world's leading EV manufacturers, recently concluded its "BYD South Asia Regional Meet 2022" in Nepal. The event had participants from BYD Headquarters in Shenzhen, BYD India & Cimex Inc. Cimex Inc. is the authorized distributor of BYD in Nepal.

BYD is now penetrating the South Asia electric vehicle market for passenger vehicles. In the past 6 months, Nepal and India have expanded their network with showrooms, workshops, and charging stations with the goal of leading the market.

Speaking at the event, Ketsu Zhang, Head of BYD Southasia & Deputy General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific region pointed out the prowess of BYD which rolled out its three million new energy vehicles recently. He further marked the event as a “Kick Off” for the new era of electric mobility in South Asia. He highlighted the importance of strategic cooperation, collaboration, and cooperation between dealer partners for the synchronized growth of BYD in South Asia.

Similarly, Yamuna Shrestha, Managing Director of Cimex Inc, highlighted how Nepal is leading the charge in the adaption of electric mobility in the South Asia region with more than 10% market share of electric vehicles in new vehicle registration. She also expressed the revolutionary BYD technology is creating an evolution and paradigm shift in the global automobile industry and has been reflected in the South Asia region including Nepal and India markets.

BYD India's dealer representatives from 13 dealer groups from various cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Hyderabad were present at the event. Dealer representative spoke about how well BYD e6 and Atto 3 have been perceived in the Indian market with 600 e6 already on the road and nearly 1500 Atto 3 bookings since its launch last month in India.

Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd., in Nepal, has already expanded its dealership networks in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Birtamode, Butwal, Nepalgunj & Dhangadhi. Regarding BYD's position in Nepal, Cimex had recently launched the state-of-art showroom and workshop in Kathmandu while also introducing the BYD Atto 3.

There is also a discussion on inter-country common charge points starting from Nepal and India and covering South Asia in the coming days for the BYD vehicles.
